2013 Topps Simply Supreme Jay Bruce 1/1

I have aquired this Topps Simply Supreme Jay Bruce 1 of 1 card from eBay. It didnt break the bank because of his 2014 performance. I have faith in him that he’ll be back to his normal self in 2015.

Not the best pic of the card but it’s all I have for now. Nice pic at spring training in AZ. Great signature on the gold foil to make the signature stand out.

I’m happy with it.

It’s Been A While….

Its’ been a while since I’ve posted a new custom card of Jay Bruce. Sure, I’ve been collecting his cards as new ones come out and picking up some older cards because, lets face it, last year, he stunk and that has made the prices of his cards plummet!

Why make a 1954 Topps style custom? Because it’s one I havent made yet. I thought I made one of all the years in the 50’s but guess I over looked 1954.

I found some new plug-ins for photoshop and I’m starting to learn how to use them. They take a lot of trial and error out of photoshop use.

I’ll post some pics of the new Jay Bruce cards that I’ve picked up over the last few months within the next few days.

More Customs of the Great 8

Hello All,

Since my guy Jay Bruce isn’t performing, and he has taken full responsibility, I’m still collecting his cards but at a much slower pace.

The Reds have pretty much called it a season, and a couple of days ago, I stepped back in time a little and made some custom cards of the Big Red Machine. You saw the major stars in the last post. Now here are the rest of the Great 8!

Let’s start of with the All-Star Shortstop Dave Concepcion. I may change this one.

All Star Outfielder George Foster

All Star Outfielder Cesar Geronimo

All Star Outfielder Ken Griffey

There you have it! Tell me what you think.
btw, finding good decent google images of these players is tough to do.

Custom Vintage Reds & More

Hello All,

Got some down time during the Labor Day weekend.
***Soapbox Time*** Just remember, Labor Day isn’t a holiday that was given to you. The AFL-CIO fought hard for this holiday and was fought tooth and nail by corporate America for years and they still are trying to repeal it! *** END OF SOAPBOX ***

Since our 2014 Reds just seems to have blown their season, I’m going to step back in time and make some custom Reds cards of players from the Big Red Machine. I usually blow by those type of designs and cards of the BRM because everyone makes them and it’s been done over and over again. So, since our current team doesnt seem to know how to win, I’ll be just like everyone else and reminisce to the days of the BRM.

I started to kinda copy an online tutorial for making vintage cards, but I didnt want to have to edit every single pic, so I made some adjustments and here are the final results:

Let’s start with the mastermind of the BRM: Sparky Anderson

And the stars of the team:

I know thats not the whole BRM but I started to get bored a little. So I tweaked the design and added Barry Larkin, Eric Davis & Chris Sabo.

And then, I went back to the orginal design and made one of ‘The Mick’.

And then one of Cal Ripken, Jr.

I’ll update again later with the rest of the BRM. Let me know if you like ’em or not!

1955 Topps Jay Bruce.

Jay Bruce has been in a funk. He’s not hitting anything. Yeah, he had a home run a couple days ago, but that’s only his second of the year. He should have at least 20 HR’s and 45 RBI’s by now.

I hope he breaks out of this slump because it’s caused a lot of fans to want to put him on the trading block.

I have faith in him but it’s dwindling, slower than most.

Comic style card are a hit!

Last week, I made a comic style card of Jay Bruce, it seemed to be a hit! Here is another Reds star, Joey Votto in his own comic style custom card.

for the caption, I just put ‘Votto’d’ because that’s what he does best, makes the play!

More players to come….

2014 Comic Card – Jay Bruce

Ive been making custom cards of my Son’s baseball team using a comic theme. So I decided to do one of Jay Bruce as well. Panini needs to make their Triple Play release in this type of card so kids might buy them. Their current Triple Play cards looked a little too kiddie and just weird.

Let me know what you think??
