Let the 2015 Reds Season Begin!

It’s that time again for the Reds to start their Spring Training games in Arizona. They will play the Cleveland Indians. While most of the Reds fans are up in arms about Votto not playing today, I’m keeping my eye on one player, you guessed it Jay Bruce.

He didnt have a great year last season due to injury and some personal issues. Now, I think he is back to pre-2014 season form. The whole NL will be watching to see if he has fully recovered, I know I will.

Here is a little something I picked up. It’s a 2009 Topps Unique Autogrpahed-Patch card of Jay Bruce. This is the best patch card of Jay Bruce’s that I’ve ever seen!

I love the Mr. Redlegs patch.
I splurged a little but didn’t go overboard.

Let’s hope the Reds have a great 2015 season!

2014 Topps Heritage ’65 Mint Dime Jay Bruce

I loved the 2014 Topps Heritage set that basically copied the 1965 Topps release. Something about the ’65 set that just says vintage! Topps made some insert card with U.S. coins that were minted in 1965, and one of them was Jay Bruce. There were only 10 of these made and I’m glad I have 04/10 in my collection. There is one with a quarter as well but I have never seen one on eBay or at any shows I’ve been to in the past 8 months or so. Probably sitting in a pack somewhere on a shelf in a card shop or warehouse to never see the light of day.

Love this card and keeping a look out for the one with the quarter. If you have seen one or know where one is, I may pay a finders fee. Comment here and I’ll be in touch with you.

It’s Been A While….

Its’ been a while since I’ve posted a new custom card of Jay Bruce. Sure, I’ve been collecting his cards as new ones come out and picking up some older cards because, lets face it, last year, he stunk and that has made the prices of his cards plummet!

Why make a 1954 Topps style custom? Because it’s one I havent made yet. I thought I made one of all the years in the 50’s but guess I over looked 1954.

I found some new plug-ins for photoshop and I’m starting to learn how to use them. They take a lot of trial and error out of photoshop use.

I’ll post some pics of the new Jay Bruce cards that I’ve picked up over the last few months within the next few days.
